The following is in Tuesday’s edition of the Elkhart Truth.

An RV electronics maker plans to consolidate three locations as part of a $34 million project north of Elkhart.

Way Interglobal Network LLC was one of two companies seeking financial incentives from the Elkhart County Council. The company plans to hire 113 people and build an 800,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in the Elkhart East industrial park, according to Chris Stager, president of the Economic Development Corp. of Elkhart County.

The other company discussed Saturday was Hull Lift Truck, which plans to build a new facility for automated and manual lift trucks.

Way Interglobal makes appliances like ovens and refrigerators for recreational vehicles as well as electronics including backup cameras and entertainment systems. Stager said the company operates three facilities that total 325,000 square feet and employ 72 people. He said to accommodate its growth, Way Interglobal is considering constructing an 800,000-square-foot, state-of- the-art warehouse and distribution center at Atlas and Innovation drives north of the Indiana Toll Road. It would consolidate two Indiana locations and one Michigan location.

“They anticipate spending $34.175 million to construct this facility and plan on hiring 113 employees at an average wage of $20.88,” he told the council. “This is by far the largest capital project undertaken by Way, and it’s critical that they get incentives to make their project feasible.”

Hull Lift Truck

The Hull Lift Truck project is also in the Elkhart East industrial park. The company, founded almost 60 years ago, makes material handling vehicles like forklifts.

“Hull Lift Truck is a legacy Elkhart company, founded in a single-car garage in 1962,” Stager said. “They are a leader in material handling solutions regionally.”
