RVDA of Canada Names Winners of Tech, Fixed Ops Personnel Bursaries

The RV Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NTP-STAG Canada RV Technician and Fixed Operations Personnel Bursaries, recognizing outstanding individuals pursuing rewarding careers in the ever-evolving RV industry.

Established through the generous support of NTP-Stag Canada — a leading distributor of RV parts, supplies and accessories — the bursary program provides financial assistance to individuals enrolled in RV technician or fixed operations training programs across the country. Since its inception in 2017, NTP-Stag has contributed $103,500 to support RV service professionals, reinforcing their long-standing commitment to workforce development in the RV sector.

This year marked the launch of the enhanced bursary program, which saw a strong response from applicants nationwide. The newly expanded program includes:

  • One $5,000 bursary for an exceptional RV technician apprentice
  • Nine $1,000 bursaries for RV service technicians in apprenticeship or educational programs
  • $500 bursaries for fixed operations dealership staff — such as service writers, service advisors, warranty administrators and parts sales personnel — who have completed approved industry training

The enthusiastic response to this expanded program reflects a growing passion for professional development within the Canadian RV industry.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with NTP-Stag to help support the next generation of RV professionals,” said Eleonore Hamm, president of RVDA of Canada. “This expanded bursary program is a meaningful investment in the individuals who will shape the future of our industry. The strong interest and quality of applications this year shows the passion and professionalism already emerging in every corner of the country.”

NTP-Stag’s support for the program is driven by a deep belief that investing in the future of the RV industry is a shared responsibility. Under the leadership of Bill Rogers, president of NTP-Stag, the company has demonstrated a strong passion for promoting fixed operations and technician training across Canada. This bursary program represents a tangible example of that commitment — one that helps prepare future leaders who will support RV consumers, dealerships and suppliers nationwide.

Among this year’s recipients is Alex Barter of Snowy Peaks RV in British Columbia, who was awarded the top $5,000 bursary.

“Thank you to NTP-Stag for the generous $5,000 bursary,” said Alex. “The support means a lot as I take the next step in my career as a journeyperson RV technician and continue to grow in the field.”

Snowy Peaks RV owner Deanna Hill also expressed gratitude: “We really appreciate the support that NTP-Stag and the RVDA have shown our apprentices and ourselves—so thank you so much!”
