RVDA Virtual Convention/Expo Workshops Taking Shape

RVDA Con/Expo

The Fairfax, Va.-based RV Dealers Association has announced a handful of speakers presenting at its upcoming 2020 RV Dealers Virtual Convention/Expo. These keynote highlights will go along with all of the educational opportunities, online product exhibits and chances to network the online event will offer.

The virtual event, scheduled for Nov. 9-20, will be hosted online by the RVDA, RVDA of Canada, and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center.

Headlining the speakers will be author and business consultant Jay Baer, whose keynote address, “Coveted Customer Experience: How to Grow Your Business by Focusing on 3 Things Your Customers Truly Care About,” will occur during the opening general session on Nov. 10. Baer is a recent inductee to the Professional Speaker Hall of Fame and the Word of Mouth Marketing Hall of Fame, a best-selling author of six books and founder of five multi-million-dollar companies.  The keynote is made possible by convention platinum sponsor Wells Fargo Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF).

Other speakers currently on the schedule include Michael Rees and Greg Dewalt.

Rees, from A World of Training, will deliver a pair of discussions. Slated for Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. ET: “Ouch! The Sharp End of Managing and Leading Hurts!” This presentation will take attendees through the difference between managing and leading, as well as the different styles of leadership. Leaders and managers need to adapt their styles to their employee’s learning capabilities and needs. The workshop will give specific instances to show how an educated leader and manager can successfully navigate “opportunities to improve” situations as they arise. This session will be recorded and available for on-demand access.

Rees also will speak on “Caring for and Feeding First-Time RV Owners” on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. ET. Everyone has experienced a huge increase of first-time RVers this year. As a response to this year’s dramatic increase in first-time RVers, Rees will discuss three specific ways to care for and feed new owners, giving everyone the best possible chance to retain these new customers – hopefully for life. This session will also be recorded and available for on-demand access.

Dewalt, of the Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle & Camping Association, will also have a pair of presentations. Scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 2:15 – 3:00 p.m. ET, “Key Factors for the Successful Business Process” looks at how good people and good process leads to a successful product. Dewalt will introduce attendees to a seven-step simple service system and dissect it using the key elements of successful processes. He will then demonstrate how to apply the key elements to a process. This session will be recorded and available for on-demand access.

In “Building a Positive Customer Experience in Your Service Department” – an on-demand only presentation – the audience will look at simple ideas to enhance the customer’s service experience and build loyalty and referrals. Customer service and satisfaction is not enough to build lasting brand loyalty and today’s customer expects more. Dealerships need to expand their ability to provide the best customer experience today’s consumer is looking for. Dewalt will discuss simple enhancements for the service process to promote and exceed customers’ expectations to provide the ultimate customer experience, the RVDA said. He will define the customer experience and identify the differences from customer care and customer service as well as identify customer experience elements in the service process.

Most sessions and virtual booths will remain online for later access through Jan. 31, 2021. Companies interested in partnership, sponsorship, or exhibiting opportunities should contact Julie Newhouse at jnewhouse@rvda.org.
