RVIA Board Nominations Needed by July 26

The RV Industry Association’s governance committee is accepting nominations for the 2020 board of directors until Jul. 26. Seven seats are up for reelection for the 2020 to 2022 term. Those interested may nominate a colleague or themselves for a three-year position on the board, set to begin Jan. 1, 2020.

The open positions are:

  • Three supplier representatives
  • Two manufacturer representatives
  • One park model manufacturer representative
  • One at-large representative

According to RVIA, the board of directors is the highest level of authority in the association’s overall organizational structure and is responsible for setting and overseeing strategy and policy related to critical topics such as standards, marketing, government affairs, trade shows, industry education and association finances.

The association is seeking strong candidates from member companies to uphold these responsibilities.

At the June board meeting, the board made the decision to move the association’s financials from a fiscal year to a calendar year. This also has implications on the election cycle. As a result, the current positions listed above have terms that extend until Dec. 31, 2019, rather than Sept. 30, 2019 as it has in previous years.

To nominate yourself or someone else, contact Bob Schmitt at rschmitt@rvia.org. Elections will take place during the month of September and the winners will be announced in October. All winning candidates will be expected to attend the next board of directors meeting on Nov. 12 taking place during the RV Dealers Association’s 2019 RV Dealers Convention and Expo in Las Vegas for transition and orientation training.
