The RV Industry Association plans to move to a new location in Elkhart, expanding the Association’s footprint to accommodate a growing staff.
RVIA President Richard Coon announced the move Wednesday to facilitate the expanded dealer training program and its team of manufacturing facility inspectors, the Association said in a news release.
RVIA’s new location will be 1178 Fremont Court, south of the current offices on County Road 17. The new location is being updated to fit RVIA’s expanding footprint in the area.
“Creating a visible and impactful presence for RVIA in the Elkhart marketplace has proven to be a great decision for the organization,” Derald Bontrager, president and CEO of Jayco Inc. and current RVIA Chairman of the Board said. “As we continue to expand our educational programs, we have outgrown our current offices and need more space for training and interaction with our membership. RVIA explored the RV/MH Hall of Fame (HOF) as a potential location for its expanded offices, but the current layout of the facility and the need for additional space in the very near term resulted in both sides agreeing to revisit such a move in a couple of years.”
“We were looking forward to having RVIA’s Elkhart offices located in the RV/MH HOF,” Darryl Searer, president of the RV/MH Hall of Fame, said. “We have worked closely with their leadership on making that happen. However, the timing needed did not work for all parties. Our current floor plan doesn’t work well for RVIA to join us at this time without making changes that would impact our revenue-generating Go RVing exhibit or taking away other revenue generating space.”
The current plan is for RVIA to move to the new location in early August.
