RVIA President & CEO Issues Message of Optimism for the Industry

RV Industry Association (RVIA) President and CEO Craig Kirby sent the following message to members ahead of the July Fourth holiday:
As we head into the 4th of July holiday, I want to take a moment to thank you for your ongoing support of the RV Industry Association and our member-driven mission to promote and protect the RV industry. Our recent RVs Move America Week in our Nation’s Capital was a tremendous success. It was inspiring to once again engage with so many of our members and partners while making meaningful progress on key policy priorities that will help sustain and grow our industry. Our collective voice continues to make an impact on Capitol Hill and within key regulatory agencies.
While uncertainty in the market continues to curb our growth, there are positives. Over the past several years, we’ve welcomed millions of new RVers—many of whom are younger, more diverse, and eager to embrace the freedom and adventure that RVing provides. Recent travel data from Go RVing shows RV usage days are up 50% over 2021, and our campground partners report that bookings across the country remain strong. The flexibility and autonomy that RVing offers continues to resonate, as do the mental and physical health benefits of being active in the outdoors.
The RV industry is healthy, resilient, and more vital than ever, and that is supported by more than four decades of consistent growth. Combined, we generate $140 billion in annual economic impact, support nearly 700,000 jobs, and contribute more than $48 billion in wages. RVing’s appeal shows no signs of slowing down, and these numbers are a testament to the strength of our sector and our role as a cornerstone of the broader outdoor recreation economy.
As we celebrate the 4th of July, I hope each of you can take a moment to appreciate the incredible work this industry does, and the millions of consumers enjoying time with family and friends in RVs all across America.
