RVIA’s Standards Team Offers Training Opportunities

RVIA

The RV Industry Association Standards team is offering RV manufacturers training opportunities on adhering to standards and regulations.

The Standards team’s classes include information on various topics such as A/C, electrical, plumbing, testing, fuel systems and more. The team also has presentations prepared on park model RV construction and fire and life safety standards. So far, the Standards team has conducted eight classes and has trained more than 100 people.

The Standards team’s training is based on requests from RVIA members. The training can be done at the members’ location, or members are welcome to schedule the training at the RV Technical Institute.

The Standards team has developed and maintained training on more than 500 minimum code requirements for which RV industry manufacturers self-certify. Their team has organized them into the following major disciplines from National Fire Protection Agency’s 1192 and the National Electric Code along with the ANSI/RVIA LV and the RV Industry Association Adopted Standards:

  • 120V (NFPA 70 – National Electric Code)
  • Fire and Life Safety – (NFPA 1192)
  • Fuel Systems and Equipment – (NFPA 1192)
  • Low Voltage – (ANSI/RVIA LV)
  • Plumbing – (NFPA 1192)
  • Testing – ( NFPA 1192, NFPA 70, Adopted Standards)

Those interested in arranging training should contact Standards Administrative Assistant, Jen Lichty, at 574-549-9082.
