Walter Cannon, executive director of the RV Safety & Education Foundation, recently completed a round of training sessions for employees at Indiana-based Jayco Corp.

Attendees included personnel from all Jayco motorized and towable divisions, including key personnel from the Entegra and Open Range brands. Between 90 and 100 representatives from customer service, purchasing, as well as engineering attended the sessions covering the importance of understanding RV tires.

With RV tires coming under closer scrutiny of late, (as promised by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), the importance of RV manufacturers understanding proper tire sizing, weight ratings and correct applications for the various permutations of RVs produced, cannot be overstated. Jayco, a long-time partner in education with RVSEF, has taken a proactive approach by providing these important classes to key personnel across all their product lines. Safety being paramount, other coach builders are expected to take advantage of the training offered by RVSEF.

Because of RVSEF’s focus as a safety advocate, the RV Industry Association fully endorses the mission and the leading-edge work of RVSEF. RVSEF is neither a consumer nor an industry advocate and is not sponsored by any particular RV industry entity. For more information about RVSEF, call 321-453-7673 or visit
