RVTI to Present Certification Workshop at Expo

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the RV Technical Institute will be presenting a Vendor Training +Plus Workshop on the various paths to RV service technician certification, the newly developed curriculum and practical assessments, and the role of licensed partners and satellite schools.

The session, held from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in Neapolitan 3 at Caesars Palace, will be led by RVTI’s Executive Director Curt Hemmeler and Senior Director of Education Sharonne Lee. A Q&A session on the Institute and training program will follow the presentation.

The new technician training program, rolled out earlier this year, features four levels of training ranging from pre-delivery inspection training to master technician. Each level serves as a foundation for the next level and will be achieved through practical application and skills-based assessments, according to RVTI.

The new program focuses on continued education over the course of a technician’s career that emphasizes being up to date on new technologies and products as they become available in the RV market. The Level 1 training credential is good for life and does not require any recertification or continuing education, as it establishes the foundation for the technician to become well-versed in the basics of RV repair and diagnosis. Levels 2-4 require continuing education within five-year periods to ensure that technicians remain up to date on the newest products and technology in RVs and ensure that technicians are able to easily diagnose, troubleshoot and repair issues to a varying degree of expertise.

All RV dealer owners and service managers attending the RV Dealers Convention/Expo can attend the training session. Vendor Training +Plus workshops are free for all registered attendees and are designed to help dealership management stay current with the latest ideas, products and services available to them on the market.

Dealers and service managers looking to learn more information about the RV Technical Institute and the curriculum can also visit the program at the Convention/Expo in booth No. 703.
