RVTI Releases RV-C Course for RV Techs
The RV Technical Institute has launched a new course, the Introduction to RV-C, as part of its gold standard technician training curriculum.
This Level 3 class provides interested technicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and utilize RV-CAN (RV-C), a powerful diagnostic tool used in the RV industry.
The RV-C course’s learning objectives, among others, include defining the purpose of RV-C as a diagnostic tool in the RV industry; describing the physical layer of RV-C, including the wiring system, signals, and distribution boards; and troubleshooting common communication problems in RV-C networks.
“The RV Industry Association launched the class after recognizing a need for it in the RV industry,” said Bill Stewart, RVTI’s director of education and one of the RV-C course’s architects. “The course was developed with the help of many different vendors and manufacturers, including Silverleaf, Firefly, Spider, Jayco, THOR Industries, and Forest River. They gave their inputs, their videos, and their training aids that they use for teaching.”
The $100, six-hour, online-only course is now available and fulfills credit hours needed toward Level 3 certification for electrical specialty.
