RVTI Trainee Shares Experience With Level 2 Training

During the RV Technical Institute (RVTI)’s Level 2 training, RV technicians develop theoretical knowledge of all the systems and components within an RV, including propane, electrical, plumbing, appliances, body, generator and chassis. A student who successfully completes the training will leave with a proven skill set to be able to perform basic diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairs on those systems and components, RVTI said in a recent News & Updates article.

Level 2 was recently completed by Tony Pivo, founder of Solar Van Man. This Chicago-area RV technician business provides RV off-grid solar, batteries and inverters, as well as charging RV electrical and energy equipment installation services. He has a wealth of experience in RVing and energy solutions and is aiming for his Master Technician certification, RVTI said.
In particular, Pivo lauded the caliber of the instructors and the modern facilities. “I am thrilled to have completed the Level Two RVTI technician training,” said Pivo, adding, “Congratulations to the RV Industry Association for its forward-thinking in creating and subsidizing this training. RVTI’s instructors are world-class, its facilities are well-equipped and the workshop demonstrations, labs and equipment were invaluable learning tools. Thanks to the RV Technical Institute training programs, my entrepreneurial options now extend beyond my RV energy vertical.”
Additionally, Pivo highlighted his instructor’s expertise and dedication, emphasizing the lasting impression it made throughout the program. “I most emphatically commend, applaud and am grateful for the passion and professionalism of Trainer Tyson Watkins,” he said. “Without Tyson’s encouragement and wholehearted enthusiasm for RV repair, I wouldn’t have gained the confidence and skills necessary to pass the Level 2 exams. Tyson is an industry treasure for attendees pursuing their Master Technician certification.”
He rounded out his testimony by affirming the RV Technical Institute’s vital contributions to the RV sector and recognizing the RVTI’s staff’s diligence and commitment. “The RVTI is an institutional pillar of the RV industry, of which I’m now an educated part of,” Pivo said. “From my first contact with RVTI last September to completing a Truma class two weeks ago, I’ve been and remain impressed by the RVTI, its mission and, most significantly, the people who make it happen.”
