Kampgrounds of America (KOA) announced the development of several upgrades for campers at the San Antonio/Alamo KOA Holiday, aimed at enhancing the camping experience for guests of all ages.
Recent additions to the 40-acre campground include the Glamping Rambler, an upgraded playground, a new bathhouse and a fully equipped maintenance shop — all designed to enhance guest comfort, convenience and fun, the company said in a release. The upgrades reflect a continued commitment to improvement at the award-winning campground, named KOA’s Campground of the Year in 2015.
Completed earlier this year, the new Glamping Rambler offers an upscale take on traditional camping with a queen bed, full daybed, private bathroom and kitchenette with a mini fridge and sink — ideal for guests who want outdoor adventure without giving up modern comforts. One Deluxe Cabin and one Kamping Kabin have also been recently upgraded, providing even more cozy, convenient lodging options.
The newly developed maintenance shop is now open, providing the team with an organized, well-equipped space for staff to store tools and supplies, improving efficiency and helping keep the campground in excellent condition for all guests.

According to KOA’s annual Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report, camper expectations for elevated site experiences continue to be a priority. In response, the campground has plans to expand its offerings in 2025 with the addition of a KOA Signature Site, featuring an expanded KOA Patio with covered seating, an upgraded grilling area, and a signature fire experience. A second Paw Pen Site will also be added, complementing the campground’s existing KOA Private Patio Site with pet-friendly amenities. Both the Signature Site and additional Paw Pen Site are slated for completion later this year.
Today, the San Antonio/Alamo KOA Holiday offers more than 230 existing sites across accommodations, RV and tent camping, with something for every type of traveler, KOA said. Popular amenities include a 4,000-square-foot KampK9 dog park, a year-round pool, a Ping-Pong and foosball table, a gaga ball pit, laundry facilities, 50-amp sites and a well-stocked supply store. Guests can also enjoy Hunt Brothers Pizza, a snack bar and a full-service Café serving made-to-order breakfast items.
