Skyline Champion Corp., makers of manufactured and modular housing and the largest producer of park model RVs in the U.S., has opened a park model plant in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
The facility is now building the company’s Athens Park brand of park model RVs.
“I am so excited for us to be bringing our popular Athens Park floor plans and designs to the Southeastern part of the U.S.,” said Dick Grymonprez, the company’s director for park model sales. “In the past we had to ship this area of the country from our Mansfield, Texas, or Leola, Pennsylvania, plant. Now, we will be able to save our customers time and money by building them locally.”
The plant will be building a complete lineup of park model RVs including cottages and cabins with lofts, bunks and porches. “Our plan is to work with a few good retailers in North Carolina as well as the surrounding states. We will also be building for the rental market with our campground and community partners.”
