Sobel University: Dealers Report Zoom Fatigue, Move to Immersion Courses
In-person classes have emphatically resumed at Sobel University, the school reports. After dealing with pandemic restrictions, including hotel limitations and the safety concerns of students traveling, they report that demand for in-person classes has exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
“After talking with many dealer clients, zoom fatigue has been the theme for more than half of them,” said industry expert Randy Sobel. “One dealer I spoke with recently shared how he believes that a single five-day in-person class was able to teach more than independent virtual learning had in an entire year.”
Sobel said he was not surprised to hear that response.
“If you want to quickly and thoroughly learn a foreign language like French, you move to France. The concept is the same across all topics, immersing yourself in it will allow you to pick it up faster,” he said.
Their findings echo the CDC’s observation that students benefit from in-person learning and safely returning to in-person instruction should be the priority. Virtual learning should be used to supplement in-person courses for continued practice, or when in-person learning is not an option.
