Spartan Motors Appoints Thomas Clevinger to Board
Spartan Motors has appointed Thomas Clevinger to the company’s board of directors. Additionally, Spartan announced that incumbent directors Richard Current and James Orchard are both retiring and will be stepping down from the board following the annual meeting of shareholders on May 23.
Clevinger brings extensive expertise in the global commercial vehicle business through his 30-year career, which includes Navistar and PACCAR. Most recently, Clevinger was senior VP and managing director of global at Navistar, where he managed all lines of business outside of the U.S. and Canada, accounting for $1.3 billion in annual revenue.
“We are confident that his significant career experience with two major commercial vehicle manufacturers will benefit Spartan as we continue on our growth path,” said James Sharman, chairman of the board. “We look forward to his contribution to our board, particularly as we look to continuously grow and improve our parts and service offerings.”
Clevinger currently serves on the board of management of DAF Trucks N.V., a leading manufacturer of trucks and subsidiary of PACCAR, based in the Netherlands, and as an executive board member of the International Service Logistics Association.
“I am pleased to join Spartan Motors’ board of directors, and am confident my background and experience, particularly with the parts business and logistics, will enhance Spartan’s focus on building its aftermarket parts and service business into a world-class operation,” said Clevinger.
