Sprout Tiny Homes, a La Junta, Colo.-based designer and builder of tiny houses, announced a collaboration and partnership with WeeCasa. Located on the Saint Vrain river in Lyons, Colo., WeeCasa is known as the world’s largest tiny home hotel and resort.
WeeCasa has 11 Sprout Tiny Homes in its resort and is collaborating with Sprout to expand the tiny home resort model in other strategic destinations in the U.S.
Moreover, Sprout has acquired 19.2 acres in Salida, located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Salida annexed this acreage into its planned Unit Development District. The PUD approved development includes innovative land planning and site design concepts that conform with community quality of life benchmarks and that achieve a high level of environmental sensitivity, energy efficiency, aesthetics, high-quality development, and other community goals.
The Sprout development, known as RiverView at Cleora will consist of 140 long term lease properties and 60 overnight unit rentals and all entitlements have been approved for the start of construction.
Additionally, Sprout Tiny Homes has recently designed, built and delivered a prototype container home for a major air flight training school. The company expects to deploy several more homes to house pilots and personnel at the new training facility. This validates our proof of concept as we expand our tiny home building vertical to include shipping container conversion as a popular option for modern homes.
During the last two months of 2016, Sprout designed, built and delivered six homes to Aspen Skiing Company to help resolve the challenge of their employee housing shortage.
Two separate models were designed for Aspen Skiing Company to house a minimum of two employees per home.
In 2016, Sprout Tiny Homes changed to a singular commercial focus in the tiny home market. This was not so much a course-correction, but rather a pivot to serving multiple larger clients while improving our production efficiencies.
Sprout Tiny Homes has partnered with leading engineering and metal fabrication firms to design exciting, new “loft and stair” structures and concealed sleeping quarters and will continue to reinforce our foothold as the leader in tiny home innovation and design.
Further, Sprout Tiny Homes is proud to meet the ANSI-119.5 safety standards in all homes that we build. This standard requires that all models meet or exceed more than 500 building and safety standards.
Lastly on the financing front, Sprout Tiny Homes has received collateral approval of our homes with several banks and financial institutions that provide commercial lease financing.
