Starcraft and Newmar issued a pair of unrelated recalls this week, affecting 330 units combined, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Starcraft RV is recalling 247 units from its 2016 travel travel trailers due to a faulty warning light that may not notify the operator that the gas is on but did not ignite.
Included in the recall are Starcraft’s 2016 Travel Star travel trailers, models G2JB5099-5101, JD5093-5094, JF5079, JG5067, and JN5065-5066; and Launch Ultra Lite travel trailers, models G2JM5112-5113, JR5187-5197, JS5179-5196, JT5533-5639, JU5121-5155, and JZ5128-5160.
Starcraft will notify owners, and dealers will correct the water heater wiring, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787. Starcraft’s number for this recall is 9902261.
Newmar is recalling 93 of its 2016 Bay Star Sport, Bay Star, and Canyon Star vehicles due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment that could allow the vehicles to be shifted out of park without applying the brakes.
Newmar will notify owners, and Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin Dec. 23.
