SylvanSport, makers of the GO lineup of gear-hauling trailers and a popup camper, continued its expansion to a dealer-based distribution model for its products through a partnership with Winnebago Outdoor, according to company officials.

As part of the deal, Winnebago Outdoor, a website that sells RV apparel and gear, will feature SylvanSport’s GO Easy line of utility trailers.

“By having a GO or GO Easy on the back, it affords them (Winnebago owners) a lot of increased capacity they wouldn’t have had,” said Kyle Mundt, SylvanSport’s vice president of marketing and new product development.

The move continues SylvanSport’s effort to expand its dealer network. Before last year, the company operated solely as a manufacturer-direct model, and has added eight dealers to its network since December.

“We’re pretty methodical about the dealers we work with,” Mundt said. “We want them to be in strategic geographic locations and offer finance and service and be in tune with our view of RVing.”

As the company’s dealer network has grown, Mundt said SylvanSport, which operates out of a 17,000-square-foot facility, has begun considering options for an expansion.

Though the partnership with Winnebago centers around SylvanSport’s cargo-carrying GO Easy tow-behind utility trailers for the company’s Class B motorhomes, Mundt said his SylvanSport’s GO popup camper makes a good fit for Winnebago owners, as well.

“Once you get to a campsite, you have the opportunity to sleep inside the vehicle or you can sleep in a camper,” he said.

The deal was a natural fit because both Winnebago and SylvanSport customers used each company’s products, according to Mundt.

“We’ve had a great relationship with Winnebago over the years, and I’m not sure there was a momentous occasion, it just sort of evolved and made sense as the Travato and Era products have gained popularity, and we noticed that a lot of our customers were driving those vehicles, and a lot of Winnebago drivers were looking for a solution,” he said.

The GO Easy utility trailer can haul up to 525 pounds of gear, and folds up for storage, taking up less than 10-square-feet of space. For more information, visit SylvanSport online.
