Talin Mfg. Completes First Run of Carefree of Colorado Parts

Talin Mfg. has announced that it has completed its first manufacturing run of obsolete Carefree of Colorado parts. Talin worked with Carefree and obtained permission to manufacture select parts for the Omega I and II slide topper assemblies.

“The Omega I and II assemblies were very popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s,” said Ingrid Throgmartin, president of Talin. “There are a lot of these slide topper assemblies still out there. Unfortunately, the availability of parts became exhausted in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Carefree was gracious enough to give us permission to manufacture the most common parts,  the question mark arms and plastic slide arm locks.”

In 2015, Talin purchased a large inventory of Omega arms from a company in Elkhart. Their inventory for question mark arms and locks for the Omega assemblies were sold out in 18 months. Talin set out on a plan to remanufacture these parts for dealers and coach owners and began manufacturing these items in January of this year. All parts manufactured by Talin are made of American sourced materials and produced in their Florida facility.

“We not only wanted to manufacture these OEM parts but also increase the quality,” said Throgmartin. “The pipe stock we used was a high grade aluminum and we doubled the wall thickness making them much stronger and less prone to bending. The arms were then powder coated for durability.”

Talin indicated they have started shipping the parts to American customers as well as those in Europe and Canada. The parts are sold under Talin’s sales division, Talin RV. The company is now focusing on manufacturing SOK II end caps which supplies are also nearly exhausted. Talin retains the only known supply of these caps but indicated their inventory is nearly depleted.
