Tennessee Truck Body Maker Buys Turtleback Trailers

Wil-Ro Inc., a truck body manufacturer founded in 1973 in Tennessee, will now be the parent company of Turtleback Trailers, a manufacturer of overland and adventure trailers founded in 2013.

The two companies already had a relationship when Joshua Coster, Wil-Ro’s president and owner, decided to acquire Turtleback and relocate the company from Chandler, Arizona, to Gallatin, Tennessee, where it will be co-located in the Wil-Ro factory.

Wil-Ro logo“I am both excited and blessed to complete the acquisition of Turtleback Trailers,” said Coster who is now president and owner of both companies. “Our team looks forward to building on Turtleback’s leading reputation within the overland industry – 10 years and counting. I look forward to seeing the brand grow and maintain its presence as the premier overland trailer manufacturer. Welcome to Tennessee – Turtleback community and loyal supporters – I can’t wait to meet you.”

The team at Turtleback Trailers, led by Katelyn McGuire, director of sales, said the company is delighted about its move from a city on the edge of the Phoenix metro area – with its forecast of triple-digit temperatures on Tuesday – to Gallatin, a city along the Cumberland River about 40 miles outside Nashville.

“Relocating from the deserts of Arizona to just outside the vibrant city of Nashville is a thrilling step for Turtleback Trailers,” said McGuire. “We are committed to upholding our esteemed brand, supporting our close-knit community, and providing exceptional customer service to our loyal Herd (the company’s nickname for Turtleback fans) while welcoming new enthusiasts to the Turtleback family. With great anticipation, we are laying the foundation for an exhilarating production launch in July 2023.”
