Texas Advertising Achieves 10 Percent Sales Growth

Texas Advertising has achieved nearly 10 percent growth in revenue during the past year as a result of rising park operator demand for its AGS guest guides as well as the company’s marketing, advertising and TXAD Internet website services.

“We are focusing on quality parks as clients as they are purchasing more of our products and services,” said Brian Schaeffer, president and CEO of Texas Advertising.

He added that the company’s growth would not be possible without the hard work of its roughly 80 employees and independent contractors, most of whom recently gathered at Lake Conroe/North Houston KOA for the annual AGS sales meeting.

Texas Advertising issued more than $40,000 in annual bonuses to its AGS sales teams, half of whom achieved sales of $100,000 or more during the past year, Schaeffer said.

Two sales teams, Ron and Marilyn Hinger and Bill and Ann Soss, were honored for completing 10 years with the company, while Tom and Valerie Rizzotto were given a President’s Award for best exemplifying AGS values and work ethic while achieving the highest year-over-year increase in sales growth (47 percent).

Another President’s Award was presented to Neil Powers for his exemplary work heading up the AGS Loyalty Program.

Karen Scott, Production Manager, was honored for her 16 years of service, while Texas Advertising General Manager Michael Moore was recognized for his 14 years of service to the company.

The AGS sales meeting included roundtable discussions focusing on lessons learned during the past year as well as best practices to increase sales and customer loyalty.

“We talked a lot about relationship building,” Schaeffer said, adding that AGS/TXAD not only focuses on providing exceptional service for parks, but state campground associations as well. The company produces camping guides for six states, including Alaska, Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.

While most of the sales meeting focused on educational sessions and employee recognition, Schaeffer said out of state family members of two different sales teams suffered health emergencies during the meeting, prompting them to have to leave the meeting early and catch flights to take care of their family members.

But the other AGS team members immediately offered to drive their RVs for them to their next destination to help ease their logistics during their time of need.

“Those are the kinds of people we have working for us,” Schaeffer. “They not only care about the quality of the work they do. They care about each other.”
