‘The Points Guy’ Visits Keystone RV
The RV industry has been attracting all kinds of attention in 2020, and the latest example of that came this week, when Richard Kerr, the Loyalty and Engagement editor from “The Points Guy” spent the day with Keystone RV to learn more about the industry and RV lifestyle. “The Points Guy” is a content publishing hub that bills itself as the “ultimate guide to navigating the ins and outs of the points, miles, aviation and travel world.” According to media watchers, the company reaches millions of Americans via its website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter accounts, including a lot of passionate fans at Keystone.
Last spring, Kerr purchased his first RV, a Keystone Passport, and began to incorporate content about RV camping on The Points Guy platforms. To the company’s surprise, his first articles have gained popularity with readers who are historically more focused on getting upgraded to a seaside cabana at a five-star Maui hotel or navigating their way into the first-class cabin.
Based on the success of his initial articles, Kerr is creating a content series to educate non-traditional buyers on RVing. Traveling with his wife and two small children, he said he plans to write about using points to save on gas, camping and equipment; towing for dummies; and homeschooling from the road. Kerr said he also plans to share “lots of bloopers” from his experiences to provide his audience with a realistic view of coming into the lifestyle.
Keystone RV Company has signed a 2021 advertising deal to explore this lucrative new buying segment.
