The Shyft Group Reports 12% Jump in Q1 Sales
The Shyft Group has reported sales of $197.7 million in the first quarter, an increase of $21 million, or nearly 12 percent, over Q1 of last year. The company had a net income in the quarter of $12.8 million, a 12.4 percent increase over the same quarter a year ago.
“We are excited with the strong start to the year, as parcel delivery and luxury motor coach continues to exceed our expectations – fueled by innovative products designed to meet our customers’ needs – and ultimately resulted in our backlog increasing over 90 percent, to a record $667 million,” said Daryl Adams, president and CEO.
Specialty Vehicle segment sales were $66.2 million, an increase of $24.9 million, or 60.5 percent, from $41.3 million a year ago. This was due to an increase in luxury motor coach chassis and service truck body sales.
