Thetford Combats Spread of COVID-19

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Thetford, a supplier of mobile sanitation and refrigeration products, is using its supplies to ensure hand sanitizer reaches neighboring communities in need.

“In times of crisis, it’s important for us to do what we can to help the community,” said Barry Eckel, Thetford’s executive vice president, the Americas. “Michigan is one of the most affected states across the country. As a company proudly headquartered in the southeast corner of the state, we feel it’s our duty to contribute and help reduce the spread of the virus.”

Thetford recently donated more than 4,400 bottles and sprayers to a local partner, Ugly Dog Distillery, which creates the FDA-approved sanitizer solution. Pint sized bottles are being given out for free at the distillery, and bulk orders can be placed by frontline organizations and essential businesses. Thetford’s contribution helps maintain the operation’s supply for the increasing community demand.

One of the many businesses that received hand sanitizer is the St. Louis Center, a residential community that cares for adults and children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, located in Chelsea, Mich.

“We still have several bottle deliveries that are being prepared for shipment,” Eckel said. “At Thetford, we are proud to do our part in aiding the community during this difficult time, and we are thankful for partners like Ugly Dog Distillery who are using their capabilities and partnering with us to help make a difference.”
