Third-Generation Michigan RV Repair Shop Excited About Move

Schroeder’s Auto & RV Repair owner Matt Schroeder in Howell, Mich., said he was already seeing an uptick in demand for RV services when the unexpected happened.

The coronavirus pandemic that arrived in March and the stay-at-home restrictions that followed this spring sidelined people’s travel plans. When restrictions were loosened this summer, RV sales skyrocketed as people looked for new ways to travel and enjoy recreational activities.

Schroeder said he is anxiously awaiting the day he and his auto and RV repair team can move into a new 20,000 square-foot building he constructed at 50 Schroeder Park Drive. He said he hopes to complete the move to the location off D-19 south of Interstate 96 in Marion Township near Howell by the first of the year.

He said he added RV repair services in 2000 when he expanded the service, repair and body shop’s current location at 623 McCarthy Street in Howell to 6,500 square feet. His father, Cam Schroeder, built the repair shop there in 1989.
