Thor Motor Coach to Tease Sustainable Class A
Thor Motor Coach is showcasing a Tuscany Class A diesel motorhome with sustainable energy in mind at the March 12-14 RVX: The RV Experience at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.
“The RVX reveal category gave us the opportunity to showcase how we are relying less on fossil fuels and focusing more on eco-friendly solutions like lithium ion and solar energy which led us to partner with Volta Power Systems,” said Jon Krider, vice president of product development and marketing for Thor Motor Coach.
The RVX Tuscany houses a generator-free power system that uses lithium-ion energy and includes a high-voltage alternator, an AC/DC inverter, and DC converter. This system allows consumers to receive more power in less space and with less weight, with longer runtimes when off the grid. Besides less pollution from a typical generator, this coach is quieter, according to Thor Motor Coach.
The Tuscany’s exterior paint package is comparable to million-dollar RVs with its fades, drop shadows, and visual texturing under a mirror finish polish, according to the company. Inside is a contemporary interior that includes embossed alligator leather furniture accents, bleached wood-grain, heated porcelain tile flooring, and modern euro-inspired cabinetry.
In the cockpit, a new infotainment system from Garmin International serves as an attention grabber. The new 15-inch integrated touchscreen display will be standard in all model year 2020 coaches. The system merges world-class RV-specific Garmin navigation, and high-quality multi-zone audio entertainment powered by FUSION, according to Garmin. It will function as a personalized multi-functional infotainment media hub offering full screen or split screen options for RV specific navigation, audio entertainment, on-board system monitoring, and the power to view four on-vehicle cameras under one centralized easy-to-use display.
Thor Motor Coach will be releasing more information on its concept vehicles at RVX in booth No. 2700K.
