Thor’s RV Vocational Training Detailed
Thor Industries is partnering with the Indiana State Board of Education and Wa-Nee Community Schools to empower students through RV vocational training and employment opportunities. The RV Construction Graduation Pathway provides NorthWood High School students a unique opportunity to complement their education with the hands-on vocational training required for a successful career in RV manufacturing.
“Our commitment to the students of Indiana is more than teaching them the technical skills required to build an RV,” said Ken Julian, Thor Industries SVP of administration and human relations. “We hope this program develops dedication, ingenuity and self-confidence, inspiring these kids by demonstrating the positive impact they can have on our community.”
Thor Industries is the primary industry partner for the RV Construction Graduation Pathway, which was unanimously approved by the Indiana State Board of Education Wednesday. Representatives from the RV manufacturer worked directly with Wa-Nee Community Schools to develop the state’s newest Locally Created Pathway (LCP), part of an educational program designed to address local economic needs through community partnerships.
The RV Construction pathway curriculum includes courses that teach students essential skills used to build RVs. Students who successfully complete the RV Construction LCP will receive a Thor-recognized certification and immediate eligibility to secure a high-wage, high-demand career at one of Thor Industries’ manufacturing plants.
“Thor Industries is honored to provide this opportunity to the students of Wa-Nee Community schools, and we hope to extend the pathway into other school communities across Indiana,” said Rick Schutt, Thor Industries director of community engagement. “We believe that investing in our communities and future generations is one of the best investments we can make for our own people.”
