Thor Industries CEO Bob Martin ranked No. 38 on Forbes’ “Businessperson of the Year” list, honoring the top leaders from many of the country’s largest businesses.
Here’s what the magazine had to say about Martin’s production in 2015.
“In just two years as CEO, Martin – an industry veteran who was previously Thor’s COO – has had the company’s pedal to the metal as revenues have accelerated by a cumulative 23 percent and profits have sped up 30 percent, according to S&P CapitalIQ. Of course, good timing never hurts, and Martin is presiding at a moment when Baby Boomers are surging into retirement and, apparently, zesting for an RV and the open road. He has estimated that Thor has at least five to 10 more years of climbing sales ahead.”
The list is compiled weighing 10 metrics, including financial results (12- and 36-month profits and revenue).
“We also weighed each company’s stock performance and total shareholder returns over the same periods and factored in each’s ration of debt to capital,” the company explained in a story about the list.
