Torklift Central To Kick Off 13th Annual Turkey Challenge Soon
Torklift Central announced its 13th Annual Kent Turkey Challenge will kick off on Sunday, Sept. 28, renewing its community partnership with Kent United Methodist Church to support the Kent Food Bank’s Thanksgiving meal program. Torklift Central invited local businesses, schools, faith communities and organizations to join the friendly competition to collect food and funds that ensure families across Kent have a full holiday table. The Kent Turkey Challenge has become a proud, community-wide tradition, the company said. Relaunched in partnership with Kent United Methodist Church in 2024, the challenge mobilizes local partners to donate food and dollars for Thanksgiving meals and year-round support through the Kent Food Bank.
Last year’s impact
Thanks to the generosity of area businesses and neighbors, last year’s challenge delivered 2,750 pounds of food and $12,411 to the Kent Food Bank — direct help for families preparing holiday meals.
How it works
Participating organizations host donation bins and invite customers, members and employees to contribute nonperishable food or make monetary gifts that stretch purchasing power for the Food Bank. A leaderboard sparks friendly competition and recognizes top contributors.
“We’re grateful to partner again with Kent United Methodist Church and our incredible local businesses,” said Jasmyne Faborito, director of marketing at Torklift. “When the community rallies together, the impact is immediate — families right here in Kent get what they need for a meaningful Thanksgiving.”
