Truma Celebrates 10th Anniversary During Open House Week

Supporters packed the house at the company's new headquarters.

With tables full of business partners, key employees and other supporters, Truma kicked off its 10th anniversary celebration of doing business in North America at a party in Elkhart, Indiana, Thursday.

Gerhard Hundsberger, Truma president and CEO, pointed out that when the company decided to branch out from Germany into the North American market in 2013, research showed they would be the more expensive choice, “but going the less expensive route just to sell a cheaper product isn’t in our DNA.”

Hundsberger addresses the crowd.

The company has made strides on the perspective that they will work with OEMs from start to finish – the end user is that finish line and providing them comfort that is “simply better” is the company’s goal.

“To  every OEM who has put their trust in us, thank you,” Hundsberger said Thursday from the company’s new headquarters, decked out in Truma’s signature blue and white.

Truma has grown its sales, staff and square footage since 2013; the lobby of the new headquarters houses displays of the products built during that time and prior, as Truma was founded in Germany in 1949. Popular products in North America include – among others – the Aventa air conditioning system, the AquaGo water heater, and the Combi, which combines an air and water heater.

“We would not be here today without you,” Hundsberger said to his employees. “You’re the ones who make things happen here at Truma.”

Hundsberger announced a new air conditioning product – the Truma Saphir – and an update to the Combi, with more details coming soon.
