The U.S. Honor Flag will be at the Grand Design facility in Middlebury, Ind., until Dec. 1.
Shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, a flag was gifted to Chris Heisler by the Texas House of Representatives. Heisler felt compelled to take action during a horrific time for the U.S. He set out to Ground Zero with the flag and helped to organize one of the longest police motorcades in the history of the U.S. with the mission of bringing tokens of support for our nation’s heroes. Since that initial trip to Ground Zero, the U.S. Honor Flag has paid tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty protecting our lives, our home, and our county as well as those who currently serve our communities, and our nation.
The U.S. Honor Flag has become a national treasure to millions of people, honoring thousands of police officers, firefighters, first responders and those serving on active combat duty in the military who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities and country. The U.S. Honor Flag has become a symbol of honor, rich in history, inspiring a renewed spirit of American patriotism as it has paid tribute to those who have answered the call of duty and gone before us.
