Michigan-based VESTA Modular has acquired an Illinois company and plans to expand operations to northern Indiana. Financial terms of the deal for Innovative Modular Solutions were not disclosed, however VESTA says it is opening a branch location in Elkhart, Ind.
VESTA is a modular home general contractor and Chief Executive Officer Dan McMurtie says the addition of IMS, which provides temporary and permanent modular buildings, will “significantly increase our capabilities with their collective industry experience, which will be pivotal to our growth strategy in the very near future.”

The company says the Elkhart branch will add 600 units to its rental fleet. VESTA also has branch locations in Atlanta, Houston and Miami.
It was not immediately clear how many jobs would be added to the Elkhart branch.
