Video: RVDA, Care Camps Foundation Invite Dealerships to ‘Compete for Kids’
Care Camps Foundation, the only national nonprofit that solely funds pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada, has teamed up with the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) to “Compete for Kids!”
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month; in honor of that month, RVDA and Care Camps Foundation are cooking up a little friendly competition – Compete for Kids! Participating RV dealerships across the country will compete with each other in raising funds to send kids with cancer to camp. Bragging rights are on the line, and each dealership location will be coming up with creative and fun ways to beat their friends and neighbors in the RV industry.
“As an RVDA board-approved in-kind charity, Care Camps Foundation plays a vital role in providing children with cancer — and their families — a traditional camp experience that fosters community and a sense of belonging,” said RVDA President Phil Ingrassia. “RVDA is pleased to stand alongside many others in the RV and outdoor hospitality industries to support Care Camps Foundation and the organization’s life-changing work.”
“The Compete for Kids campaign is a powerful example of the RV industry coming together to make a difference,” said Jenna Berneck, development director of Care Camps Foundation. “RV dealerships across the country are joining forces to raise critical funds that send kids with cancer to these magical camps — where they can experience joy, hope, healing and friendship in the great outdoors.”
Last year, $2 million was awarded to 117 pediatric oncology camps by Care Camps Foundation. Collectively, the camps served over 41,000 kids living with cancer along with their families.
