After an initial planning phase, Way Interglobal hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for its new global headquarters in Elkhart, Ind. The RV industry’s supplier of appliances, electronics, and furnishings has plans to move into the new facility in late 2022.

“This is a monumental day for our company,” said Wayne Kaylor, CEO of Way at the groundbreaking. “We’ve been growing rapidly, expanding our product lines, adding great people to our team, and the next step is building the kind of space that will allow Way to continue expanding its industry footprint.”

The nearly 800,000-square-foot warehousing, showroom, and office space will consolidate and expand Way’s current 360,000 square feet across three locations. To help service growing company needs, Way is expected to grow its current team by 30 percent to service the facility and additional company growth.

The new headquarters will be one of the largest buildings in Elkhart County and reaffirms Way Interglobal as a prominent fixture in the expanding RV industry, according to the company.

“Our new headquarters is a commitment to our customers, but also the region where many of us live and work,” said Kaylor. “We are proud to call Elkhart County home and will long into the future. The building will bring all our facilities under one roof and allow our team to better collaborate and work together. We couldn’t imagine a better location for this expansion than Elkhart.”

Since its founding in 2010, Way Interglobal has added several product brands including Drive, Everchill, Elite, Haven, and Greystone to meet the needs of RV enthusiasts.

The company’s upward trajectory was accelerated by the introduction of the Everchill residential size 12-volt refrigerators in 2017. The first of its kind in the RV industry, 12-volt refrigeration models have become a mainstay in many recreational vehicles after being pioneered by Way.

“Our innovation has made this opportunity possible,” Kaylor said. “With cutting edge products like the Everchill 12-volt refrigerator, we bring new and impressive options to the RV industry. The new building will more than double our size, advance our capabilities, and allow us to add more innovative products that will only better our customer’s experience.”

Today’s ceremony was attended by state, local, and private industry leadership from the state and region. The building partner on the project is Nuway Construction of Goshen.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. (IEDC) offered Way Interglobal up to $1 million in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans to create 108 new jobs by the end of 2024. The IEDC also offered up to $400,000 from the Hoosier Business Investment tax credit program based on the company’s planned capital investment in Indiana. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired and investments are made.
