Personnel files are a minefield of legal liabilities for RV professionals, but they’re a necessity of employment.
Attorney Bret Yaw, an employment law expert, will lead a course to cover proper personnel recordkeeping in an online class Thursday (Feb. 5) at noon Eastern.
The course is offered through the Mike Molino RV Learning center, and users can register online for no fee.
“The Legal Risk of Poorly Managed Personnel Files,” will provide real life examples of how mismanaged personnel files can lead to legal liability for your business, according to the news release.
“While some laws separate some documents from the same file, other regulations mandate how long each of these documents are kept. This complicated file system can be hard to understand, leaving HR managers at personal legal risk if they include the wrong documentation,” according to the release. “However, some simple guidelines can keep your dealership and HR manager out of hot water.”
If you cannot attend at the scheduled time or want specific employees to experience this webinar at another time, dealers can register anyway and receive links to the materials for later viewing.
