Wholesale motorhome and towable values decreased last month, according to Black Book’s RV Market Commentary.
“Both motorhome and towable values decreased last month. Although motorhomes continued their familiar “one month up one month down” pattern, towables saw their values decline for the third consecutive month,” said Eric Lawrence principal automotive analyst, specialty vehicles, said in a release. “These drops are not wholly unexpected, as we are heading into the slower season for many dealers, and the average unit’s age increased slightly over the previous month.”
Taking a closer look, Black Book said the average selling price for motorized units was $61,575, which is down $6,591 (9.7%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $20,138, down $915 (4.3%) from last month.
One year ago, the average motorhome sold for $74,069, and the average towable unit $21,217.
Last month, auction volume was higher, Black Book reported, with motorhomes increasing 6.7% and towables edging up 5.6%.
The average model year for motorhomes was 2013, and for towables, the average model year was 2018.
