Winnebago Celebrates 62 Years
Winnebago Industries is celebrating the company’s 62nd anniversary, the company announced on its LinkedIn profile.
Its beginnings trace back to Feb. 12, 1958, in Forest City, Iowa, with the initial production of a small travel trailer. Select employees were tasked with heading out on the weekend with a travel trailer in tow and not returning until that unit was sold in order to meet the weekly payroll, according to the company. That work ethic was an integral part of the company expanding into its then core motorized RV segment several years later and the building of its reputation as a pioneer of high-quality RVs, according to the statement made online.
Today, the Winnebago Industries story has evolved to include campuses across five states and more than 5,500 collective teammates working together to drive four outdoor lifestyle brands that include Winnebago, Grand Design RV, Chris-Craft and, more recently, Newmar.
The manufacturer stated that it looks forward to continuing to help customers explore the outdoor lifestyle.
