Greg manages and supports a team of full-time, in-field standards inspectors, overseeing the inspection program and its scheduling. Remarkably, even with these responsibilities, Greg personally conducts over 300 inspections annually.
In what ways has Greg gone above and beyond for RVIA?
Greg’s 25-year career began as a traveling inspector, logging thousands of miles to ensure safety across the U.S. and Canada. His dedication led him to instruct basic electricity at RVIA’s Troubleshooter Clinics, demonstrating a willingness to embrace new challenges. During this period, he also earned his RV technician certification through online studies. As a certified technician, Greg further contributed by teaching code classes at RVIA-sponsored community colleges, mentoring aspiring technicians.
How does Greg’s tenure and experience contribute to RVIA?
Known among his peers for his unwavering helpfulness, Greg is always ready to assist members with questions and provide thorough explanations of enforcement positions on standards, his nominator says. His commitment to the continuous improvement of industry standards is widely credited with enhancing safety throughout the RV sector.
How does Greg mentor or support other employees?
Greg’s willingness and passion for sharing his knowledge and experience in standards and inspections to the next generation is part of his foundation. He never passes up an opportunity to educate individuals around him and always makes time for newer employees and team members.
What else should we know about Greg?
When RVIA initiated a program involving upper management walk-alongs during inspections, Greg became the prominent face of the association, hosting over 15 senior leaders. He still vividly recounts these experiences, his enthusiasm evident as he shares stories of guiding respected industry professionals through the daily work of an inspector. His dedication has earned him high praise from colleagues, who describe him as “excellent at his job” and one of the most helpful people they know. They consistently note his genuine desire to assist others and his diligent efforts in addressing member inquiries daily.

What has it meant to work in the RV industry this long?
Being in RVIA’s Codes and Standards department has been one of the craziest jobs I never knew I’d have. I’ve been here for 25 years now. I enjoy the variety of local trips, out of town trips, office work, training of new inspectors and creating training material for the OEMs. There is an amazing amount of creative, hardworking and dedicated people in our industry.
What advice do you have for those just starting their careers?
Be open to learning new skills and areas of development. Know that every job or task may be something that you can draw on later in your career or life.
