Model Year 2026 Preview: Aliner, Roadtrek & Westfalia

Aliner

In 2024, Aliner introduced several exciting additions to its Aliner A-frame lineup. This year, the company has enhanced the A-frame series with updated interior decor and refreshed exterior graphics, while shifting its focus toward two major product developments: the all-new Switchback Truck Camper Sleeping Pod and a reimagined version of its Ascape travel trailer.

While the standard and optional features remain the same for 2026, the new Switchback Truck Camper Sleeping Pod is expected to be one of the most innovative and attention-grabbing products Aliner has introduced in years.

“Since its debut on our website, it has generated strong interest from outdoor enthusiasts looking for a more comfortable and practical alternative to sleeping under a truck bed topper,” says Allan Reeping, director of sales at Aliner. “Simple in design but big on comfort and convenience, this unit fills a unique niche in the market — and it’s already proving to be a conversation starter on showroom floors. For dealers, the Switchback offers a fresh opportunity to attract a new wave of minimalist adventurers and overland-style campers.”

With over 40 years of lightweight compact camping trailers, Aliner has experienced strong growth in its entry-level Scout series, driven by the increasing number of consumers transitioning to smaller tow vehicles.

“As our lightest and most affordable model, the Scout has quickly become a top choice for budget-conscious buyers looking for simplicity and ease of use — perfectly aligning with today’s market trends,” Reeping says.

At the same time, the company’s high-end Evolution series continues to perform well, maintaining steady interest among buyers who seek premium features and added capabilities.

“Interestingly, while mid-priced models have seen some softening, both the entry-level and premium ends of our lineup are showing solid momentum, reflecting a more polarized market dynamic,” Reeping says.

Looking forward to the last half of 2025 and into 2026, the Aliner team is seeing consumer interest remaining strong, particularly in the lightweight and compact travel trailer segments, such as A-frames and teardrops — which has always been Aliner’s specialty. As more buyers prioritize affordability and towability, the company’s lineup is well-positioned to meet that demand, making its products increasingly attractive to both dealers and end customers, the company says.

“If inflation remains manageable and rates begin to ease, we anticipate a gradual increase in retail momentum heading into 2026, fueled by consumers looking to embrace simpler, more intentional outdoor experiences,” Reeping says.

Roadtrek & Westfalia

At Open House this month, Roadtrek Inc. will roll out fresh options for 2026 under its Roadtrek and Westfalia brands, with each option tailored to the changing needs of today’s van-life enthusiasts. Both lineups balance modern styling and real-world practicality.

Westfalia introduces the Wave 4/2 option package. Designed with solo travelers or couples in mind, the new configuration removes the traditional front bench and folding bed system with a large, open galley space, creating a wide, uncluttered living and cooking area. Ample storage is built into the front and rear of the van, and a 5.3-cubic-foot refer adds real-world convenience. In the back, a fold-up bed allows easy aisle access and extra storage flexibility.

“The Westfalia Wave with its optional 4/2 package hits the sweet spot with overwhelming practical travel conveniences,” says Len McDougall, head of sales at Roadtrek Inc.

On the Roadtrek side, the Play Series gets a rugged makeover with the new TUFF PACK option. This package gives the popular model a more adventure-ready look, with exterior upgrades like a stylized front grille, spotlights, side step bumper, and an interior rear door storage grill organizer. Inside, a two-tone sporty leatherette cab upholstery and matching rear cushion brings a fresh, modern touch.

“The Roadtrek Play model with the Tuff Package option gives Roadtrek brand dealers the opportunity to appeal to that modern buyer who is looking for more adventure-ready styling but does not necessarily need mountain goat performance from the chassis,” McDougall adds. “Buyers will see all the money they can save without comprising their intended future RV adventures.”

For 2026, both brands will offer new battery system options to enhance flexibility and off-grid power. Contemporary yet functional design enhancements are featured across Roadtrek Inc.’s lineup.

“Roadtrek is taking the approach of providing new designs and ideas that align with the evolving needs of today’s travelers without compromising the basic principles of functional floorplans and easy-to-operate systems,” McDougall says.

He points out Roadtrek’s mix of floorplans will appeal to a wide spectrum of RV travelers. “Choices of price, complexity, styling and functionality also will give dealers consistency and predictable sales performance across out entire model mix,” he says.

Dealers can find Roadtrek and Westfalia’s full Open House display at Executive Parkway in Elkhart, near the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum.
