Model Year 2026 Preview: Midwest Automotive Designs & Renegade RV
Midwest Automotive Designs
Midwest Automotive Designs Director of Sales Jake Stephenson says the company is proud to introduce the new MD3 (mid-bath, driver-side with three captain’s chairs) floorplan in the Mercedes-Benz Patriot.
“Building on the success of our popular MD2 layout, the MD3 adds a third captain’s chair while retaining all the premium amenities our owners love — including a large 7.3-cubic-foot dual-door refrigerator, convection microwave and floor-to-ceiling pantry storage,” Stephenson says. “We’ve also expanded our rear seating/bed options with the new dual bench option, available on all floorplans. This acts as an alternative to the traditional rear lounge. Designed with adventurers in mind, this configuration offers increased storage space, making it ideal for those who enjoy cycling, fishing and active travel. These enhancements are a direct result of valuable feedback gathered from our passionate owners at Midwest Rally events, helping us continue to evolve with the needs of our community.”
The 2026 model year brings new standard features, including the Hybrid Energy System across the lineup.
“This all-new power system combines cutting-edge lithium battery technology with the versatility of an onboard generator. This dual-source setup provides the freedom to power the AC system via lithium alone or seamlessly switch to the generator when needed — ideal for both off-grid adventures and extended campground stays,” he says.
The Ford Patriot receives an upscale upgrade typically reserved for luxury Mercedes-Benz models and standard on all other Midwest RV models — a built-in macerator with a power hose reel standard. This new design raises the dumping point to a more ergonomic height, making it easier for owners with limited mobility or joint concerns.

Every Midwest coach now has the Alpine Audio System standard, featuring a designated amplifier and subwoofer, resulting in deeper bass, richer sound and an immersive experience.
New optional features for 2026 include smart connectivity and the Onyx package. The optional Eclipse Firefly app integration allows owners to connect their coach to their smartphone using either the available 5G internet router or optional Starlink satellite system.
“This feature is especially valuable for pet owners who want to monitor interior climate settings like AC or heat remotely, offering greater peace of mind wherever the road takes you,” Stephenson says.
The Onyx package transforms the look of the unit with a high-gloss black finish on all exterior chrome. Inside, all hardware is upgraded to a sleek black nickel finish.

Stephenson says what stands out most about what they’re introducing in 2026 is their commitment to redefining luxury and innovation in the Class B segment.
“From launching the largest OEM lithium system in the industry (21,000 watts) to introducing an all-new hybrid power system that combines lithium and generator capabilities, we’re giving owners the freedom to travel farther and more comfortably than ever before,” he says.
“We’ve also elevated comfort and style with custom power ottomans, new memory foam bedding, premium audio upgrades and fresh modern design palettes. Every enhancement was driven by customer feedback and designed to make ownership more effortless, luxurious and adventure-ready.”

Reflecting on the 2025 models, Stephenson says the newly redesigned power rear bed was a major highlight among owners at the spring rally this past April.
Looking forward to 2026, he says one of the most eye-catching additions is the redesigned exterior body kit, which includes new side steps, a sculpted rear fascia and an integrated front spoiler that perfectly follows the body lines of the Mercedes Sprinter. He says they continue to see SUV owners increasingly turning to Class B vans as a more versatile option for family travel.
“At Midwest Automotive Designs, 2026 represents more than just new features — it marks our continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of luxury, innovation and usability in the Class B market,” he says. “Our designs are informed by real feedback at Midwest rallies and built by craftsmen who take pride in every finish. Whether you’re chasing adventure or traveling in style, there’s a Midwest van built for your journey.”
Renegade RV
Renegade RV is offering many new floorplans for the 2026 model year, including the Valencia 39BB, the Valencia 39RB, the Explorer 40EBH and more.

The Valencia 39BB is a new 39-foot family-focused floorplan featuring a triple-slide layout with bunk beds, a cab-over bunk and a standard en suite design. Where the 39BB was designed with family in mind, the Valencia 39RB designed for couples and features a bath-and-a-half layout.

The Explorer 40EBH is a unique 40-foot bunkhouse floorplan offered at a competitive price point. Chris Cook, director of sales for Renegade RV, says this model stands out with two key innovations: A dual chassis offering including the Freightliner Cascadia (with a more automotive cab and improved transmission for reliability) and the Peterbilt 567 (with lower gear ratios for enhanced towing capability — ideal for customers with trailers or boats).
The Veracruz 32VRS has a newly designed layout featuring independent zones and a dedicated bedroom with a north-south bed configuration. “It offers a smoother travel experience with fewer stops and a refreshed layout not previously available,” Cook says.
New standard features for 2026 include updated vinyl plank flooring, 5G connectivity for internet access, motion-activated cargo compartment lighting, extended patio awning lengths for increased outdoor space, enhanced driver/passenger seats with lumbar support and heating, and a new exterior paint design offered in four full-body colorways and four single-color paint options.
New optional features for 2026 include Starlink internet, a two-stage awning upgrade for expanded outdoor coverage, a new exterior underbody and scene lighting with color-changing options, and upgraded scene lights for greater utility.

For this past year, Cook says cabinetry upgrades and single-color paint options contributed to the popularity of the Blackout package, which includes black wheels and trim. Looking forward, he says they are following the trends to address comfort and technology as they see buyer preferences continue to trend toward enhanced comfort and furniture quality.

“The 2026 Renegade lineup reflects a refreshed brand identity — balancing innovation with the quality Renegade is known for,” Cook says. “With meaningful upgrades across every unit, we’re staying true to our core while adapting to what today’s customers value most.”
