From Monika
What advice do you have for up-and-coming women in the RV industry?
During an RV Women’s Alliance event a number of years ago, RV Hall of Famer Debbie Brunoforte shared this piece of advice: “Say yes.” This really resonated with me and summed up in such a concise way an excellent mentality that has allowed me to grow in my career. While none of us can say yes to everything or “do it all,” having a “yes” mentality opens up opportunities that you may not otherwise have had access to or would have been open to.
Say yes to that new project at work that will allow you to stretch yourself and make an impact. Say yes to getting involved in industry, professional or trade groups; the connections are priceless. Say yes to mentoring someone — formally or informally. You will learn something too, and it feels great to help someone else advance in their career.
What does it mean to you to be a Women in Business honoree?
I absolutely love that RV PRO takes the opportunity to highlight women in our industry who are doing incredible things, and I look up to so many of the women who have been previously honored. To be included in the list this year is very humbling, and I am grateful for the recognition from the RV PRO staff and those who took time to nominate not only me, but all my fellow honorees.
