E-Van Debuts Composite Thermal Liner for Electric Vehicles

E-Van, the composite body division of Embassy Specialty Vehicles, introduced its new Insulated Liner for use in a range of electric vehicle (EV) applications.
The Insulated Liner delivers exceptional thermal resistance in the slimmest possible design, making ideal for a range of electric vehicle applications, from delivery vans and work trucks to RVs and buses.
“The E-Van insulated liner is a perfect complement to the core E-Van proprietary body enhancing thermal resistance that will aid in improving the efficiency and range of commercial EVs. Lighter weight and an R-60 insulation rating reduces the energy requirements of heating and cooling commercial EVs, thus increasing potential range, and enabling the development of refrigerated commercial EVs,” said Mike Schoeffler, CEO of Embassy Specialty Vehicles. “With a range of applications, we can provide the potential for climate-controlled cargo areas for electric step vans, work trucks and delivery vans, while enhancing passenger comfort in electric RVs and buses.”
Utilizing a rigid vacuum insulation panel with a microporous core, encased in a thin, gas-tight envelope, the E-Van Insulated Liner offers a number of key advantages for the commercial EV market:
- Thermal resistance resulting in outstanding insulation performance, keeping cargo temperatures stable, extending EV range by reducing HVAC load, and enhancing passenger comfort.
- Ultra-thin design to maximize interior cargo space and maintain sleek vehicle profiles without compromising on insulation power. Space-constrained EV designs benefit from the 2.5-inch thickness of the insulated walls.
- Broad applications including temperature-sensitive deliveries (frozen, refrigerated), climate-controlled work vehicles, comfortable and energy-efficient RVs, and passenger buses.
- Flexible, system adaptability that can be integrated into various wall, roof and floor systems, adapting to specific vehicle designs.
- Precision integration accompanied by rigid insulation infill strips for a seamless fit around complex areas and penetrations.·Game changing thermal resistance with R-50 to %-60 insulation ratings enabling climate-controlled applications without giving up potential EV range.
- Custom SEVNA design assistance service ensures optimal material usage and efficient panel layout for your specific project. We provide detailed layouts illustrating panel sizes, quantities, and placement, ready for your approval, maximizing the performance of the SEVNA system.
“The E-Van Insulated Liner is the ideal solution to integrate into composite bodies for a range of commercial EV applications requiring climate control,” said Schoeffler. “The E-Van composite body combined with the Insulated Liner, provides the most flexible, customizable solution for the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets from refrigerated vans to more comfortable passenger vehicles. This innovative solution will help ensure that grocery delivers and frozen food maintain their quality and passengers remain comfortable, all while minimizing the potential drain on battery range.”
