General RV Celebrates North Carolina Supercenter Anniversary
One year after opening the doors in Salisbury, General RV Center family ownership along with nearly 60 dealership employees, and members of the state, county and local community gathered to mark the anniversary with a special event and tour of its 71,000-square-foot facility on Oct. 7.

“We promised to bring a great place to work to the community, I think we’ve done that,” said Loren Baidas, CEO of General RV and third-generation owner, at Tuesday’s event. “We have almost 100 employees here after one full year. Our goal is to continue to grow this store and our footprint and to be a vital part of the success of this community.”
Located approximately 30 miles northeast of Charlotte, the Salisbury supercenter offers a wide range of RVs, in addition to outdoor products and accessories. The dealerships also hosts 34 service bays, including a six-bay body shop, with enough space to house 700 RVs on the lot. In addition, the family-owned dealership is the largest RV supercenter within 400 miles and is No. 1 in the state for motorhome sales, General RV said.
“It was two years ago in August that we broke ground on the site,” said Rod Crider, president of Rowan County Economic Development Council. “That was an exciting day for us, but really the thing that made it exciting was that it was more than just the beginning of a new construction project, it demonstrated your (General RV’s) confidence in our county and our community that out of all of the places you looked, you chose Rowan County. (And) your contributions to the local economy has been significant. You’re bringing in new visitors to Rowan County, who are spending money in our restaurants and our retail stores … and you’ve given us a lot of visibility.”
General RV Center owns and operates 23 supercenters across 10 states (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah and Virginia).
