The Modern Caravan, which renovates vintage Airstream trailers, has partnered with Accuride International, whose slides for kitchen and underbed-dresser drawers underpin its latest revamp, Hope.
“Putting Accuride slides in this Airstream is a no-brainer because it mimics the same quality that we build everywhere else inside the trailer,” said Modern Caravan Co-owner Ellen Prasse. “We really want a design to be functional, and the Accuride slides will remain functional for a long period of time – even with the jostling they have to withstand when a trailer is bouncing down a gravel road.”
Prasse and her partner, Kate Oliver, chose Accuride 3135EC Eclipse Easy-Close undermount slides for their durability, smooth operation, and concealment, according to the company.
“I was really excited that the slide is installed underneath so you don’t have to look at the hardware every single time you open a drawer,” said Oliver. “That gives it a polished look, and the soft, easy close adds to the comfort we focus on providing.”
The Accuride 3135EC is a full-extension slide that supports loads up to 100 pounds. The 3135EC is certified by both the AWI and BHMA and complies with ADA standards. As with all Accuride products, the 3135EC comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
