Norcold Celebrates 60th Anniversary
Norcold, which was founded Oct. 15, 1959, in California, is celebrating 60 years of manufacturing specialty refrigerators for the RV, marine, and mobile markets.
Operations moved to Sidney, Ohio, in 1964, which remains the company’s largest manufacturing facility. In 1997, Norcold was purchased by Thetford Corp.
“It’s incredible when you think back on Norcold’s 60-year run as a top supplier to the RV industry,” said Barry Eckel, Thetford’s executive VP in the U.S. “Over the years, many people contributed to that success. We’d like to thank everyone who helped us build a Norcold refrigerator since 1959. We could not have done it without our dedicated loyal employees.”
Norcold is continuing to honor its legacy of innovation and growth, as reflected in the recent release of the Polar Series of RV refrigerators, according to the company.
The newest addition to the line is the Polar 10DC, a 10-cubic foot DC compressor RV refrigerator.
“We’re incredibly humbled and grateful for the support Norcold has received from the RV industry in the past 60 years,” said Mary Pouliot, VP of sales and marketing in the U.S. “We’re committed to continuing to provide RVers with innovative, quality refrigerators that meet their unique needs.”
