Norcold, a manufacturer of gas-absorption and AC/DC refrigerators/freezers for the RV, marine and commercial truck markets, has launched the Polar Elite N15DC refrigerators, which offer residential styling, the convenience of a DC compressor with RV road-ready features.

While OEMs are offering large capacity 120V AC residential refrigerators, that is far from an ideal solution. One of the many problems is: Unless you have an expensive on-board generator or solar powered invertor system, there is no power to the refrigerator while traveling or off the grid. Without power, temperatures rise in the refrigerator and food safety becomes an issue.”
Norcold is the only company that offers 12V refrigerators that are completely designed from the ground up for mobile use – not converted 120V AC residential units. Norcold’s new design specifically includes:
