Open House 2025: Forest River’s East to West
Della Terra
East to West will be relaunching its brand Della Terra at this year’s Open House with a full overhaul, sleek look and new floorplans.
Della Terra will have three to four new layouts to showcase at the Forest River EXPO at the East to West 508 plant during the event. The brand condensed its lineup with three Della Terra LE (single-axle) and nine dual-axle floorplans.
“East To West’s first created brand, Della Terra (which means ‘of the Earth’), led the industry in 2017 with standard features for the conventional travel trailer market. Those standard features for Della Terra included 5/8 tongue-and-groove plywood floor decking, 2-inch-by-3-inch interior walls with 81-inch interior height, king-size bed, stainless steel farmhouse sink, high rise faucet, enclosed and heated underbelly, wider dinettes and the largest refrigerator and AC furnace at the time,” says Lisa Liegl Rees, founder and senior general manager of East to West. “Today, Della Terra still offers these standard features and more! This year you can find all the standard 2017 features and more: porcelain toilets, fully finished pass-through storage with universal docking station, carpet-free interiors and, of course, our residential-like, woman-designed interiors.”
Described as a year of rebirth for the brand, the core of the foundation remains the same with excellent standard features and quality construction while adding a new look and offering.
“Our Della Terra 251RD was our bestselling floorplan in 2024. We attribute the success of this floorplan to the value-added standard features, along with an interior that felt more like home than a travel trailer,” says Rees. “Outside Della Terra’s rebirth, the strength of partnering with Forest River should catch any dealer’s eye. With the volatility of the RV industry, there is no better time to invest in young and growing brands like Della Terra.”
Alta
Alta will introduce three new travel trailer floorplans this year — the 2375KRK, 2475KBH and 3010KBH.
The 2375KRK is a new version of the small rear kitchen model. The 2475KBH is a brand-new, small double-over-double bunk model with a box length of 25 feet. The 3010KBH is a new family-oriented bunkhouse.
New features and options abound in Alta, with standards such as:
- Additional secondary exterior awning switch in pass-through on the camp side
- Added exterior slideout switches on the off-door side of the unit for easy setup
- New hidden pantry storage in several models
- Upgraded interior lighting
- Added washer/dryer prep in four of the current travel trailer plans: the 2600KRB, 2800KBH, 2810KIK and 3150KBH
- Hot and cold water shut-off valves at the toilet and all sinks
- Cup washer
- New 10.7 residential inspired black glass refrigerator with pullout lower drawer freezer
New optional features include:
- Swing-out bumper mounted griddle/grill combo on select models
- Factory installed 5.5k NPS generator for the Alta KTH toy hauler line
- Expanded 1,800-watt inverter option for the entire travel trailer line
Todd Grubb, general manager of East to West’s travel trailer division, says the company continues to make refinements based on what the retail public are looking for in the product, while maintaining the feature-rich craftmanship that Alta is known for.
“Our Alta travel trailer line continues to be the bread and butter of the product line, but in the past year we have seen substantial growth in our Alta Xtreme and KTH toy hauler segments,” Grubb says. “The new models of course will be eye-catching and intriguing to everyone. I also think the attention to detail, the bright, residential-inspired decor as well as the growth and evolution of the product line will continue to attract the eyes of both dealers and retail customers alike, not only this fall but for years to come.”
As for 2025 trends, Grubb says in the laminated travel trailer world, cost is important and must be in line with what the customer expects — but equally as important, if not more so, is the product’s quality and the expectation of that quality, combined with the must-have features customers are looking for.
“I feel that 2024 has been a slow but healthy improvement over last year, and if we can get a couple interest rate cuts this year and get past the election, then 2025 is shaping up to be a much more ‘normal’ and sustainable market,” Grubb says.
Entrada
Entrada is introducing the Bravado Super C motorhome at Open House this year, plus a new floorplan.
The Entrada 2710 is a motorhome under 30 feet and is a nonslide unit that features twin beds that can easily convert into a king-size bed. This makes it the perfect couple’s coach for those who want the ease of a coach with no slideouts.
New standards for Entrada include:
- Inverter prep
- Roof-mounted solar package
- 15,000-Btu AC with heat pump
- Outside shower
- Painted front cap
- Slam latch baggage doors
When it comes to optional features, the Entrada M-Class will now have an E-Gen option that deletes the LP generator. It features 960 amp hours of lithium batteries, a secondary alternator and 600 watts of solar on the roof that are perfect for the dry camper on the go. A new partnership with Expion360 opened new options for East to West.
“Partnering with Expion360 marks a transformative milestone for East to West RV. The incorporation of their advanced battery technology into our Entrada M-Class motorhomes significantly elevates the product’s energy efficiency and reliability — key factors our customers value,” says Tony Young, general manager of the motorized division. “As general manager, I am deeply involved in ensuring this integration not only meets but surpasses the expectations our customers have come to expect from our brand. This collaboration perfectly complements our commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality solutions that enhance the outdoor adventure experience.”
Last year, East to West’s Entrada 2950OK floorplan was successful because of its ability to combine practicality, comfort and versatility in a unique way. It also offers an outdoor kitchen for those who prefer outdoor cooking.
Young has several predictions for 2025.
“In 2025, RV dealers are likely to be interested in innovative features and technologies that enhance the overall experience for RV enthusiasts.”
He says there are five potential areas he can see catching dealers’ and buyers’ attention:
- Sustainable and eco-friendly features: RVs with energy-efficient systems, solar panels and eco-friendly materials will attract environmentally conscious buyers.
- Off-grid capabilities: RVs designed for off-grid adventures, with features like robust battery systems, water filtration and self-sustaining power sources, will cater to those seeking remote travel experiences.
- Enhanced safety features: RVs equipped with advanced safety technologies, such as collision avoidance systems, lane departure warnings and adaptive cruise control, will provide peace of mind to buyers.
- Enhanced connectivity: RVs with reliable and high-speed internet connectivity options will attract digital nomads and remote workers who want to stay connected while on the road.
- RVs with innovative storage solutions.
“The trend is certainly moving toward smaller units that are off-grid capable,” Young says. “This is why we have introduced some smaller floorplans with solar systems.”
Ahara | Blackthorn | Takoda | Tandara
This year, East to West fifth wheels will stay the course and continue to improve on their current fifth wheel lineup: Takoda luxury toy hauler fifth wheels, Ahara luxury fifth wheels, Blackthorn mid-profile fifth wheels and Tandara mid-profile fifth wheels.
Although there won’t be any new product lines, there will be a new floorplan in Ahara — the 395FB.
“It features the most impressive kitchen and primary bathroom of any floorplan we’ve ever designed,” says Mark Krol, general manager of East to West fifth wheels. “We will also be introducing the new Blackthorn 3400ROK, which features a rear outdoor kitchen with patio kit.”
Blackthorn and Tandara fifth wheels get new standard features with 4K Series rectangle-shaped windows, built-in shades and wood interior trim for a residential-inspired interior look and a sleek exterior look.
New optional features like the Super Sofa in the Ahara 378 BH-OK and the Ahara 390 DS, which is a five-seat reclining sofa with portable “stow-n-go” tables, provide expanded seating and dining flexibility.
“The Ahara 395FB is an incredibly complete floorplan that will check a lot of boxes for luxury fifth wheel customers: Walk-in front closet with abundant storage, spacious primary bathroom with double vanity, primary bedroom with a 50-inch TV and fireplace, half bathroom/utility room with toilet, sink and washer/dryer, opposing 60-inch EZ Out Hide-A-Bed sofas, theater seating and desk in the living area, deluxe pantry, breakfast bar, island and unmatched counter space in the rear kitchen.”
Ahara experienced success in 2024 with sales increasing more than 20% in the year’s first six months as it enters its fourth model year, Krol says.
“Since inception, East to West founder and senior general manager Lisa Liegl Rees has designed beautiful interior decors that stand out from the crowd. The new Barrington Maple decor for Tandara fifth wheels will be well received by dealers and retail customers,” Krol says. “Now more than ever, our customers are seeking higher quality fifth wheels and East to West strives to fill that need.
“While market conditions are certainly not ideal, East to West fifth wheels have gained fifth wheel market share and continues to grow. We anticipate further growth for our brands as we continue to enter new markets in the last half of 2024 and into 2025.”
