Brunswick Sews Masks for Health-Care Workers

Employees who make cushions for Brunswick Boat Group’s Sea Ray and Boston Whaler brands are now sewing masks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bill Gowan, director of operations at Brunswick Corp.’s Merritt Island, Fla., facility, told Orlando’s Channel 6 news that it was an easy transition.

This story originally appeared in Trade Only Today.

“We’ve got some of the best upholsterers in the world,” Gowan said. “We were able to quickly train our team on how to produce a mask that met CDC guidelines.”

Masks are being made for Brunswick employees around the world, but the company has also donated 15,000 masks that it purchased to hospitals and first responders.

Brunswick is also producing parts for face shields and ventilators.
