B&W Trailer Hitches Acquires Altor Locks, Expands Product Line
B&W Trailer Hitches announced it has acquired substantially all assets of Altor Locks, a leader in high-security trailer coupler locks. This strategic acquisition includes key intellectual property and strengthens B&W’s ability to deliver advanced security solutions to its towing customers, the company said.
For decades, B&W has earned its reputation by delivering dependable towing solutions and designing products that customers trust to tow their most important cargo. With the addition of Altor Locks, the company is expanding that promise beyond towing and into security.
“We pursued the Altor purchase because the product is best-in-class and fits our brand seamlessly,” said Beth Barlow, general manager at B&W Trailer Hitches. “Our customers trust us with what they tow, and Altor allows us to extend that trust into protecting it.”
Altor Locks has redefined expectations in the security industry with the first products engineered to withstand the modern threat of thieves with power tools, that can defeat traditional locks in seconds. “From day one, Altor set out to redefine lock security,” said Dylan Cato, co-founder of Altor Locks. “Joining B&W allows us to take that mission to the next level by bringing our power-tool-resistant trailer locks to more customers and develop new security solutions that would not have been possible on our own.”
The acquisition reflects B&W’s long-term vision to grow beyond traditional category boundaries and invest in products that solve real-world problems for towing customers.
Altor Locks will continue operating under its existing brand in the near term, with plans to integrate into the B&W brand.
