Campgrounds & State Parks Among Google Maps’ Top 4 Most-Searched
Go RVing is committed to keeping you up-to-date on trends and insights that impact the RV industry. One trend to watch is the prevalence of travel and outdoor recreation among Google’s Year in Search 2025.
Campgrounds and state parks were two of the top four most-searched on Google Maps. Likewise, travel itineraries were among the Food & Lifestyle category’s top five most-searched.
The bottom line: The most-searched results reflect the $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation industry’s continued popularity among consumers.
RVshare’s 2026 travel trend report indicated similar outdoor recreation trends, noting that campgrounds and dispersed wilderness areas provide visitors with close-to-nature stays and experiences that hotels can’t match. RVing takes this even further, offering travelers the versatility to adapt and move with their surroundings.
Google’s most-searched outdoor trends also align with the RV Industry Association’s recent findings that nearly 4-in-10 leisure travelers (39%) plan to take an RV trip in the coming year — a significant increase from last year — while purchase interest remains steady at 26%.
